In a small town outside Ho Chi Minh City, Chef Thai's family has roasted their own beans, grown on their farm in the highlands of Vietnam, for over 35 years. That blend is what goes into every cup here: cà phê đá, cà phê sữa đá, cà phê trứng, and the phin drip that takes ten to fifteen minutes at the table.
Caramelized fish sauce, Thai chili buffalo, lemon Szechuan pepper. Five pieces or fifteen, with seasoned or plain fries and Dang Good Nugs alongside. Thrillist listed them in "Best Chicken Wings in America".
The café sits at 1800 S Carpenter Street in Pilsen, behind HaiSous. Enter on the side of the building, on 18th Street. Chicago Magazine put us on "Hottest Restaurants in Chicago", and Eater on "The Best Coffee Shops in America".
